The Sony Xperia S is one of the three new smartphones from the next generation NXT series by the prestigious manufacturer. The series includes a range of impressive features on each handset, while each one also has its own distinct qualities to suit different users. This phone is the first to come out and offers a large display and powerful camera.
With a 12.1 megapixel camera this is the most prominent in the series for photography and video recording. It is accompanied by an LED flash to assist in poor light conditions, as does the Exmor R mobile CMOS sensor respectively. As with others in the series such as the Sony Xperia sola there is also up to 16 times digital zoom featured. Full (1080 pixel) High Definition (HD) video recording is possible for stunning video clips to be made with your mobile wherever you go. For great photos you can use the fast shutter to snap your image in just over a second when you tap the onscreen control. Use the 3D Sweep Panorama to create even better media and be aided by the face and smile recognition features too. Additionally, there is a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for photo shots of oneself and more importantly video calling contacts via applications such as the built in Google Talk. This camera is also capable of 720 pixel HD quality.
Once you have created media on the Xperia S with its respective cameras you can share it instantly through the integrated social networks such as Facebook and Twitter among others, as well as messaging it with the multimedia messaging (MMS) and email communication offered. You can also share it wirelessly to a nearby compatible device via Bluetooth, or move it to a computer using the USB connectivity and synchronisation support. There is however no particular hurry to do this as the handset offers an initial 1 to 1.5 gigabytes of internal storage along with up to 32 gigabytes eMMC flash memory.
This leaves you to enjoy your media on the large 4.3 inch BRAVIA powered display or use the DLNA wireless functionality to watch your HD videos and image playback on a larger device, like a television for example.
The Sony Xperia S has a stunning design and features impressive hardware such as its camera and touch display. It is also running the powerful Android operating system (initially 2.3 Gingerbread) and comes out of the box with a range of fantastic built in applications.
